A Day at Clearwater Paradise Resort

SUNRISES & STRONG COFFEE
Mornings on the Island
Days at Clearwater Paradise start with the view. Because we're built into the side of a mountain overlooking the Caribbean, every room and every veranda faces open water. Guests gather on the main veranda for breakfast, where the ocean breeze rolls in and the coffee or tea flows.
Breakfast is made from scratch, often with fruit picked from our own trees. Mangoes, papayas, avocados, coconuts, hogplums, breadfruit, and bananas grow across the property, and something is always in season. Around the trees, you may get to see our resident parrots make appearances, or the geckos try their luck at the hummingbird feeders.
DIVING, SNORKELING, AND PADDLING
Out on the Water
Clearwater Paradise started as a scuba diving resort, and the water is still where most guests spend the day. Our fully equipped dive shop sits down by the shore with rental gear for divers and snorkelers. We even have Nitrox mixing on site.
We run two dive boats: a 33-foot custom panga built for 12 divers and a 26-foot panga for 6 divers. Each boat fits at least 2 tanks per person, so we can spend ample time on the water. Guanaja sits on the world's second-largest barrier reef, and with more than 50 named dive sites (and countless unnamed ones) around the island, so no two days on the water look the same.
Not diving today? Kayaks and paddleboards are free to use, the pool is always open, and exploring the reef is just a paddle away from shore by kayak or paddleboard. Love to fish? We've got you covered.

FRESH CATCH, FRESH FRUIT, FULL PLATES
Lunch & Downtime
Lunch is served family-style on the veranda, with plates coming straight from our kitchen. The ingredients are as local as it gets - from hand-picked fruit to fresh-catch fish.
After lunch, we're back on the water for your afternoon diving session. Not diving? Rinse off in the pool, nap in the shade, or find a spot on the veranda with a book from our leave-and-take library.
GUANAJA AND THE JUNGLE GROUNDS
The Grounds & Afternoon
The grounds at Clearwater Paradise are lush, quiet, and full of life. Fruit trees line the paths, birds move through the canopy, and iguanas (if you're patient enough to spot them) sun themselves on the rocks.
As Guanaja is one of the wilder islands, you're free to explore the lush surroundings. Want to hike to a freshwater waterfall or take a trip into town? We'll help you plan your excursion.

A GAME ROOM WITH THE BEST VIEWS
Relax & Unwind
The top floor of the main building is our game room, and it holds the best view at the resort. After a day of diving, snorkeling, or hiking, guests gather here to unwind. There's a pool table, foosball, darts, board games, and a fully stocked bar. Plug your camera into the TV and show off the day's photos, or catch whatever game is on.
The reading library covers the back wall. Take a book, leave a book. That's the whole system.
FRESH CAUGHT DINNER ON THE VERANDA
Sunsets & Seafood
Dinner is the highlight of the day. Guests eat together on the open-air veranda, watching the sun drop into the Caribbean while Yajaira and the kitchen team send out plate after plate. Menus rotate based on what's fresh, what's caught, and what's in season. Fresh seafood, tropical fruit, and homemade sides are the norm.
After dinner, most people linger. That's the point.

COMFORT WITH A VIEW
Rest & Reset
Every room at Clearwater Paradise faces the ocean. The main building holds 8 air-conditioned rooms across three floors, all with either a queen bed or two singles, and two suites with additional sleeping space available for larger groups.
For families or longer stays, we also have a two-bedroom apartment above the dive shop with a small kitchen, living room, and private bathrooms in each bedroom.
